The Recreation Committee is a nine-member committee appointed by the Town Council. The committee advises the Recreation Director in the number, type and scope of recreational and community activities offered to residents. They also engage in fundraising activities on behalf of the community to provide funding for these recreational opportunities. The committee meets on the first Thursday of every month and all Standish residents are welcome to attend these meetings.
If you would like to volunteer to help out for an event or have a question, you can contact one of the members of the Recreation Committee who has an email address or email standishrec@fairpoint.net to contact the general committee membership. Volunteers are vital to our recreation program and we are always in need of a helping hand. If you are interested in helping out with a specific event or program, or just have an hour or two here and there, we have a project for you. Please tell us more about yourself and your interests HERE.
