TITLE: INCREASE EMS BILLING CLERK HOURS
WHEREAS increased volume of emergency calls cause the need for additional clerical work to maintain the billing and reconciliation of the EMS billing accounts and accommodate new billing accounts for vehicle and structure fires, and
WHEREAS the current employee is part-time status and work load pressures indicate that full-time staffing is necessary, now be it
ORDERED that the EMS billing clerk hours are increased from 32 to 40 hours per week.

Note: A new fee structure and billing accounts have been added to capture the costs of covering vehicle mishaps, structural fires and other emergency responses. Estimated revenue from insurance coverage for such activities is in the $75,000 per year range. Processing the claims creates an increased workload for the EMS Billing Clerk and more than offsets the increased salary and benefit expenses.
