TOWN COUNCIL MEETING
STANDISH, MAINE
SATURDAY, JUNE 12, 2004 - MUNICIPAL CENTER
AFTER ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
CALL TO ORDER
The Meeting was called to order by the Town Clerk.
The newly elected Councilors Terence Christy and Larry Simpson were sworn to office before the Town Clerk.
ROLL CALL
Councilors present: Christy, Hopkins, Nesbitt, Pomerleau, Simpson and Spencer. Councilor Lymburner was excused.
The Clerk opened the floor for nominations for Council Chair.
Moved by Hopkins Seconded by Simpson to nominate Terence Christy for Council Chair. Moved by Nesbitt Seconded and Voted for nominations to cease. All in Favor of Terence Christy for Chair.
Chair Christy opened the floor for nominations for Vice Chair. Moved by Pomerleau Seconded by Christy to nominate Gene Nesbitt as Vice Chair. Moved by Hopkins Seconded by Simpson to nominate Gerald Spencer for Vice Chair. Moved by Simpson Seconded by Hopkins for nominations to cease. Chair Christy called for secret ballot vote.
The Clerk announced the vote:
Three votes cast for Spencer – Three votes cast for Nesbitt. Moved by Pomerleau to vote for Vice Chair at the next meeting with the full Council. Motion failed-no second.
The Councilors cast ballots for Vice Chair.
The Clerk announced the vote:
Four ballots cast for Spencer. Two ballots cast for Nesbitt.

VOTE: 6 Yeas – 0 Nays
98-04 Call for Special Town Meeting and Approve Warrant [Simpson]
VOTE: 6 Yeas – 0 Nays

Moved by Hopkins Seconded by Simpson to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 9:50 am by unanimous consent.
