SPECIAL TOWN COUNCIL MEETING
JUNE 16, 2007 – STANDISH MUNICIPAL CENTER
BEGINNING AFTER ANNUAL TOWN MEETING WHICH BEGINS AT 9:00 AM
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by the Clerk and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Newly elected Town Councilors Jeffrey Burgess, Terence Christy and Wayne Newbegin were sworn to office before Mary Chapman, Town Clerk.
ROLL CALL
The roll was called by the Clerk and all Councilors were present.
The Clerk opened the floor for nominations for Council Chair.
Moved by Christy Seconded by Biegel to nominate Louis Stack for Council Chair. Moved by Christy Seconded by Pomerleau for nominations to cease. (Unanimous)
Councilor Stack was duly elected as Chair and presided over the election of Vice Chair. Moved by Pomerleau Seconded by Biegel to nominate Wayne Newbegin as Vice Chair. Moved by Christy Seconded by Pomerleau for nominations to cease. (Unanimous) Councilor Newbegin was duly elected as Vice Chair.
NEW BUSINESS
77-07 Adopt Standish Town Council Rules of Procedure [Town Council]
VOTE: 6 Yeas – 0 Nays, Biegel
PUBLIC ITEMS
Chair Stack noted that there were several boards or committees that needed membership and asked the public for help. He asked that within the next week Council members get back to him on which standing committees they would like to serve on.
EXECUTIVE SESSION (S)
An executive session was not needed at this meeting.
ADJOURN
Moved by Christy Seconded by Biegel and voted to adjourn. The meeting adjoured at 9:35 am by unanimous Consent.
