FALL SOCCER PROGRAM:  Registrations for the soccer program for children ages 4 - 12 will be available at Town Hall from Monday, July 12  - Thursday,  August 5.   Registration forms will also be available on the Recreation Dept. website (Forms and Applications page - Use General Reg. Form.) For this program, age refers to player’s age as of October 15, 2010.

The  fees for ages 6 – 12 include a team t-shirt and a medal or trophy & are as follows:
-- “Early Bird”  Fees: $30.00 (1st child) — $25.00 (each additional child)  
-- “Latecomer” Fees (after 8/5): $35.00 (1st child) — $30.00 (each additional child)                             

Payment is required at the time of registration. We will attempt to accommodate any child registering after the deadline, but if there is no space available the child may need to be put on a waiting list.

The program for Ages 6 -12 focuses on instruction and recreational play, with an element of competition being introduced at  the higher ages. The pre-season includes instructional clinics and team practice times, and a regular game schedule for all levels begins after Labor Day. All levels play at 5:30 p.m. at either Standish Memorial Park (SMP) or Johnson Field. Depending upon other communities wishing to join our league, there may be some travel involved at this level.

2010/2011 AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM -   We will begin accepting registrations for the 2010/2011  Standish Recreation After School Program on Monday, August 2. The After School Program for the 2010/2011 school year will begin on Monday, August 30 and will be held at G.E. Jack Elementary School. This program is open to children in Grades K – 5 that attend Edna Libby, Steep Falls or George E. Jack Elementary Schools. It is held Monday - Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. excluding all school vacations, holidays & snow days. SENIOR BUS TRIP TO POLAND SPRING  - Travel with us to the Poland Spring Resort and Preservation Park, where you will learn the story of Poland Spring water, visit the museum in the historic Maine State Building, see the All Souls Chapel or roam the beautiful grounds of the resort.   We’ll have lunch at Cyndi’s Dockside Restaurant before heading backThis trip will be subsidized by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, so the price is right!  Senior Registration forms are available on the Registration Forms/applications page, or you can register in the clerk's office during regular business hours.

Depart Standish Municipal Center Parking Lot at 8:30 a.m.
Depart Cyndi’s Dockside Restaurant by 1:30 p.m.—return at approximately 2:15 p.m.
Fee:  $18.00 (Standish Residents); $20.00 (Non-residents)
(Covers transportation, admission and lunch.)

Deadline to register:  September 16


BRITISH SOCCER SUMMER CAMPS: British Soccer Camps provide players of all ages and abilities with the rare opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international experts. Each day includes individual foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages, and a daily tournament. Equally important, the Challenger coaching staff provides your child with lessons in respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship and leadership. Camp programs include a free ball and shirt and a free British Soccer jersey for on line registrations 45 days prior to camp! Click here to register.

DISCOUNT TICKET PROGRAM - The Recreation Department currently has discounted tickets a few venues, so plan ahead and purchase your tickets in the Clerk's Office during regular business hours.  Cinemagic Tickets are $7.00/ticket , which is a 17% savings.  Funtown/Splashtown tickets are $26.00, which is a $9.00 savings, and Water Country tickets are $28.00, which is an $8.99 savings.

WE HAVE A GIFT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM - You can purchase gift certificates for use with Standish Recreation programs. You determine the amount and the recipient, and give the gift that keeps on giving. For more information contact the Recreation Department at 642-2875.
