OUTDOOR HERITAGE PROGRAM - Is week long introduction to StateplaceMaine’s outdoor legacy where campers will develop the skils and confidence to safely enjoy the woods and waters, all while earning their Maine State Hunter Education and Archery Education Certifications. Activities will include wildlife and tracking lessons, map and compass, basic first aid and outdoor safety, archery, forest ecology, fishing, survival techniques and group development games. 2008 FALL SOCCER PROGRAM INFORMATION - Registrations for the soccer program for children ages 4 - 12 will be available at Town Hall from Monday, 7/7 - Thursday, 8/7. Age is determined by player's age as of October 15, 2008. The fees for ages 6 – 12 include a team t-shirt and a medal or trophy & are as follows:
$30.00 1st child
$25.00 each additional child
Payment is required at the time of registration and anyone registering after the Aug. 9 deadline will pay a $3.00 late fee per child. We make every attempt to accommodate any child registering after the deadline, but in some cases child may need to be put on a waiting list if there is no space available.
The program for Ages 6 -12 focuses on instruction and recreational play, with an element of competition being introduced at the higher ages. The pre-season includes instructional clinics and team practice times, and a regular game schedule for all levels begins after Labor Day. All levels play at 5:30 p.m. at either Standish Memorial Park or Johnson Field. Depending upon other communities wishing to join our league, there may be some travel involved at this level. The schedules are:
Ages 6 & 7: Mondays, Thursdays & some Saturdays. Pre-Season Play begins Monday, August 11, 5:30 p.m. at Standish Memorial Park
Ages 8 & 9: Tuesdays, Fridays & some Saturdays. Pre-Season Play begins Tuesday, August 12, 5:30 p.m.
Ages 10 - 12: Mondays, Wednesdays, & some Saturdays. Pre-Season Play begins Wednesday, August 13, 5:30 p.m.
Children ages 4 & 5 play at Standish Memorial Park on Saturdays at 9 a.m. for four consecutive weeks beginning September 6. The deadline to register for this program is Wednesday, September 3. This program focuses on introducing soccer skills through various group games. A regular soccer game is not played until the final week of the program. The fee for this program is $20 and includes a team t-shirt and a soccer pin.
