Burn Permit Information

                                        Burn Permits

The Maine Forest Service dictates when burn permits can be issued. This is determined everyday at 9 am. You can find out if permits are going to be issued for the day by going to www.maine.gov in the search field enter “fire danger map”. Standish is located in Zone 3 and will issue permits if the level is a Class 2 or lower. Burn permits are issued locally at the Standish Municipal Center in the public safety lobby after 9 am. Burn permits are valid until 10pm at which time fires must be completely extinguished.
