Transfer Station General Information

The Standish Transfer Station is located 1 mile in on the Moody Road, which is off the Northeast Road.  The Northeast Road travels from Route 25 to Route 114.
New stickers are available July 1 of each year and are valid through June 30 of the following year.  The cost is $25 and they are available at the transfer station and the town hall.  There are also 14-consecutive day permits which can be purchased at the transfer station only.  If you have questions, Email the Public Works Department.
Stickers can be purchased at the Transfer Station or at Town Hall.
 Facility is for use by Standish residents only and a sticker is required.
 Use this facility at your own risk.
 Unload your own vehicle. If you need help, please ask for it.
7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Friday through Monday
Closed Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday  
Closed Memorial Day, Labor Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day
The transfer station exists to handle waste that is generated only within Standish. The following rules apply:
All vehicles using the disposal facility must have a sticker that is permanently affixed to the vehicle's windshield of the user's vehicle or on a window of the vehicle that is clearly visible to the attendant in order to use the facility. It must be clearly visible to the attendant.
Stickers are non-transferable and fees are non-refundable. If you trade your vehicle, remove the sticker, surrender it to the attendant and it will be replaced at no fee. If you do not surrender the sticker you must purchase another one for your new vehicle.
The disposal of solid waste generated outside of Standish is prohibited.
Solid waste materials must be dumped in locations designated by the town and disposal fees must be paid on certain wastes. In all cases, the word of the attendant is final.
Failure to follow these rules may result in the prohibition of an individual and/or vehicle from entering the transfer station facility.
Sticker Fee: $25 per vehicle
Special 14 Consecutive Day Permit: $5 per vehicle
Items Covered by the Sticker include household waste, cardboard, recyclables, waste oil, mercury items and small metal items.
All other item charges are as follows:
Brush: $10 per pickup, $20 per one-ton truck, $10 per yard for large loads, $5 minimum charge
Leaves: .50 ¢ per bag or $ 3.00 per yard
Mixed Debris. - $40 per yard with a $5 minimum charge
Wood Waste - Burnable: $20 per pickup, $40 per one ton truck, $20 per yard for large loads with a $6 minimum charge
Oversized Bulky: $5 per small item; $10 large item (brown goods, furniture, etc.)
White Goods: $5 per small item; $10 per large item; $20 for items with freon
Sheetrock: $40 per yard
Shingles: $40 per yard
Tires :
19" or smaller: $4 per tire
20" or larger: $12 per tire
Equipment and off road tires: $50 per tire
Double fee for any tire with rim attached
CRT's (Cathode Ray Tubes):
        Televisions and computer monitors: $5 each
